Safety & Security

To ensure the safety, security and well being of the children in our care, Noah’s Ark has specific procedures and standards in place to cover pick-up and drop-off, visitors, equipment, furniture safety, cleanliness, germ prevention, and more. These procedures are periodically reviewed and updated to ensure they reflect the most current safety and security technology and practices

The Well-being Of Your Child Is Our Top Priority

The well-being of your child is vital to an effective learning environment and we strive to provide an environment that is as healthy as possible. You can never be too careful when caring for children. Some examples of the safety and security measures that we take include:

Hand Washing

Hand washing is the single most effective practice in preventing the spread of germs. Teachers and children are required to wash their hands, using described procedures, before and/or after engaging in a thorough list of activities.

Peanut Free-Tree Nut Free Environment

We take allergy potential of nuts among young children very seriously. This is why Noah’s Ark is a Peanut/Tree Nut Free Environment.

Emergency Response Services

All staff is trained in Pediatric First Aid & CPR. In depth Health Emergency Response, Emergency Disaster Response & Crisis Prevention Plan is in place.

Secure Environment

Our classrooms are designed with the safety and security of each child in mind. From room layout to specifically selected equipment, our belief is that you can never be too careful when caring for children. Regular training, safety drills, fire drills, a posted emergency plan, emergency exits, fire extinguishers and interior electronic door locks ensure your child’s safety. Only those with a security key tag to the main door can gain access to the center without staff member. Additionally, our site is equipped with video surveillance for the safety of our children, families, and staff.

Medical Standards

Each adult working at Noah’s Ark must provide evidence of good health with a signed physical examination, tuberculosis test, and other state-mandated requirements. All medical records are periodically updated. Staff members do not work if they are ill.

Children are required to have update to date immunizations and annual physicals. We maintain a complete written record for each child in our care. Noah’s Ark does not administer medication unless provided with written authorization from both the parent and the pediatrician.

Pick-up and Drop-off

Families must sign their child in and out daily. Families, with subsidies are required to log in to the pin system along with the class sign in/out book. Children’s files are kept confidential, and we ask that families inform us of any changes in regards to names, addresses, phone numbers, or people authorized to pick up the child. We will only release a child to an adult with written authorization from a legal guardian.

Cleaning & Disinfecting

Staff are directed to thoroughly clean and sanitize surfaces that children come in close contact with. We have a routine practice in place for toys and furniture to be cleaned and sanitized daily. Toys that children put into mouths are also required to be immediately cleaned and sanitized.
